Collected by Aboriginal harvesters, the new Desert Dry Collection is a range of 100% pure and natural essential oils distilled from naturally fallen Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) trees sundried in Australia’s vast desert lands.

  • A scent that transcends time and place

    As well as Australian sandalwood’s archetypal warm, woody, creamy and spicy notes, the Desert Dry collection has varying levels of resinous facets akin to olibanum or myrrh, plus mineral nuances reminiscent of the dry country on which the tree grows.

    With unique olfactive profiles, these oils offer more lift and rugged character as compared to Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) oil distilled from green wood.

    The Desert Dry Collection is made using custom distillations and blends developed by our chemist and in-house perfumers, and is available at three price points.

  • Adds lift with pronounced initial impact

    Drawing on our unique knowledge and access to provenance, this collection of pure and natural Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) oils has been innovated to present earlier than traditional sandalwood oils, making them ideal for candles and aircare.

    The oils also work well in a wide range of fragrance applications from fine fragrance to body care, soap as well as incense and bakhour, offering different olfactive variants to our other Australian sandalwood oils.

  • A product enriched by purpose

    Like green wood, for each dead sandalwood tree collected 20 seeds are planted and logged using GPS to monitor regeneration. Benefits are also shared with Traditional Custodians through profit-share, wood sales and royalties to the K Farmer Dutjahn Foundation (KFDF), an independent, Indigenous led not for profit empowering future custodians to care for their lands and prevent biodiversity loss.

    This is part of the unique model that won Dutjahn Sandalwood Oils the United Nations Equator Prize as a global innovator working to combat planetary crises and forge a new economy.

Distilled only from trees that die of natural causes in the wild, the Desert Dry oil has woody, creamy, fatty-aldehydic and resinous notes.

This is complemented by facets of flint reminiscent of sulphurous fruits (passionfruit, cassis), incense and roasted grain.

Featuring an added dash of Australian sandalwood light fractions, the oil’s woody note is complemented by a delicious floral note similar to orange blossom.

It also offers with an animalic undertone and fruity violet notes reminiscent of boronia.

Featuring higher doses of light fractions this oil is our most diffusive product, offering woody, floral, fruity and orange-blossom notes, enhanced by facets of violet and plum.

This limited edition oil is available by special order only, and is ideal for applications requiring large amounts of diffusion like candles and air-care.
